But who is this Père Mayor?
It was from Père Mayor Marcel Mayor that Joseph, founder of the winery, bought his first Pinot Noir vines.
Head of the Valais Capuchins, graphologist and even exorcist, Father Mayor was a colourful character, well known in the region. He was keen to leave a trace of his passion for vines, so it was only natural that Joseph decided to dedicate Pinot Noir and Dôle to him.
Over the years and generations, he has almost become a brand name, and we are delighted that, 70 years on, he is still the face of these two cuvées.
